Hello Parents/Guardians,

I was very excited to log onto our Google Classroom today and see how many students have joined. If your child has yet to do so, please get them to log onto their Google account and join our class. Once they have done that, you will notice there are now 3 assignments under the Classwork tab. Please have your child work through these sequentially. 

The first assignment, Google Classroom and Google Meet Expectations, is one that needs to be completed with both student and parent/guardian. Please read through this document and discuss the contents with your child. (You can also find this message posted on the Stream tab) 

The second assignment, Grade 5 Google Classroom Scavenger Hunt, will challenge students to navigate their new Google Classroom learning environment and answer questions.  

The third assignment, Classroom Practice, is part of the scavenger hunt and will be explained as students work through those questions. 

Please try to have all of these tasks completed by Monday, April 6th. 

First Google Meet Meeting:

We are planning to have our first Google Meet meeting on Monday, April 6th. I will be available during 8-10 am as well as 12:30-2:30 pm for students to drop in and say hello. I will be sending an invitation to the Google Meet via their CBE Gmail address. I will also post a link on the Stream tab of our Google Classroom. 

This first meeting will be a chance to connect through a video chat and reconnect after being away from the school and classroom. We will also have an opportunity to discuss any questions regarding how to utilize Google Classroom/Meet, assignments given, or any other inquiries.
