This week in Room 16 we have been hard at work. Students started a new silhouette art project yesterday. They are going to finish off the paint portion of it tomorrow. In math we have learned three different strategies for multi-digit multiplication. The strategies are the window method, traditional algorithm, and the lattice method. Ask you child what their preferred strategy is and how it works. In language arts we worked on entertaining beginnings for our stories. Hello everyone, Sorry for the lack of blog posts this week. This week we have been working on a variety of projects and preparing for the winter concert. In Science we have been working to create electrical safety posters before we start our work with circuitry. Students will present these posters on Friday. In Math we have been doing 2 and 3 by 1 digit multiplication. Students had a little quiz today so I could assess their progress in learning. We will be starting 2 by 2 and 3 by 2 digit multiplication tomorrow. In Language Arts we are continuing to work on our story plans. We hope to have theses done by the end of the week. We are also looking at the first Harry Potter movie as a way to connect our Hero's Journey story wheel to a real world example. This will be great to refer back to as we plan a write our stories. Tomorrow is our Winter Concert! Students need to be at school by 6:00 pm and the concert will begin at 6:30 pm.
